Jasprit Bumrah created history on Tuesday (December 9) at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack during the first T20I between India and South Africa as the hosts started the series win in style with a 101-run victory to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Bumrah finished with figures of 2-17, which included the big wicket of Dewald Brevis, who was the top-scorer for the Proteas with a knock of 22 in 14 balls. Bumrah also got the wicket of Keshav Maharaj, who made a two-ball duck as the Proteas were bowled out for just 74.

Bumrah completed 100 wickets in T20 cricket with his incredible feat and became only the second Indian to achieve the feat after Arshdeep Singh, his new-ball partner. In fact, Bumrah is the first Indian to take over 100 wickets in all three formats of the game

Overall, the star pacer is only the fifth bowler in history to reach the landmark around the world, alongside Lasith Malinga, Tim Southee, Shakib Al Hasan, and Shaheen Afridi. Among the five bowlers, Bumrah's average and economy are the best in all three formats. Infact, in the rare club of five players, Bumrah is the only one who has an economy of less than seven an average below 25 in all three formats.

Moreover, Bumrah is only the 11th pacer from a full member country to achieve the feat, and he is the only one among them with an average below 18. He has broken Arshdeep Singh's record for the best average in T20Is among pacers in the 100-wicket club. No other player averages below 25 in all formats of the gameAmong spinners from Test-playing nations who have over 100 T20I wickets, only Rashid Khan (13.57) and Wanindu Hasaranga (15.86) are averaging better than Bumrah.

In fact, the star pacer is the only fast bowler with an economy less than seven, bettering Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman.Meanwhile, among spinners, only Rashid Khan (6.01) is better than Bumrah, while Hasaranga also goes at a rate below seven per over (6.95). Bumrah's average of 19.8 is also the best in Test cricket history among players with more than 200 wickets.
